Zimbabwe diary

Regular readers (ha!) will know by now that I’m a big fan of the Economist. Well, my subscription’s expired and I’m too poor to afford a new one. It’s very sad, and I’m working on getting my school to buy it for me, but I’ve learned to cope with their lovely “Economist Analysis and Views” RSS feed. I also unfortunately don’t have the same kind of daily access to every paper in the country that I had at my job over the summer. You would think that a journalism school would be the place for that sort of thing, but alas, that is not the case.

Anyhoo, on to today’s story.

I’m finding this “Correspondent’s Diary” absolutely fascinating. Today’s edition, “A Narrow Escape” describes the experience of a foreign correspondent in Zimbabwe and the dangers that he faced. It’s pretty good reading, as are most of these columns.
